Ludacris drops new video and oh god what is going on with his abs

The Fate Of The Furious comes out on Friday, and along with it comes the latest soundtrack in the long-running series, featuring undoubtedly bass-heavy cuts by a murderers’ row of talent—Migos, Kevin Gates, Jeremih, Young Thug, 2 Chainz, and a whole bunch more. In advance of that release, series star Ludacris has dropped a new single, and it features an outré “Thong Song” sample as well as stop wait what in the sweet merciful fuck is going on with his stomach?

No.

No.

No.

The video is about having lots of sex and features many sexual puns and images of butts. It also features what are clearly CGI abs that look like some sort of stack of butts implanted on the rapper’s belly.

Later in the video, Ludacris is portrayed as trapped within a literal vitamin capsule, confusingly suggesting that the “vitamin D” in the song’s title was not a sexual pun but some sort of actual prescription, and also that Ludacris is, himself, a vitamin.

Of course, Ludacris has a long tradition of playing off his own goofiness for body-horror laughs, and this appears to be one more node in the artistic motif.

Yes, apparently the entire video was a Mulholland Drive-like fever dream that is only revealed in its final moments, when Luda awakens from a chemical-induced slumber to find that the sexy nurses were not there to pleasure him but were instead just nurses who happened to be sexy, and that his malformed CGI muscles were an eerie, uncanny distortion intended to satirize the rapper’s much-less-shredded actual torso.

In which case, job well done, Ludacris. Because those CGI abs are terrifying.
