Ludacris joins Marisa Tomei and Oprah for Empire season two

Ludacris is set to join Kelly Rowland, Marisa Tomei, Oprah, Common, Chris Rock, Alicia Keys, and Lenny Kravitz on Empire’s second season. He’ll be playing a correctional officer alongside Terrence Howard’s Lucious Lyon, who was arrested at the end of the first season on murder charges.

The rapper posted a photo from set of himself and Howard in costume with the caption “This could get interesting…,” a likely reference to his onscreen history with Howard, who Ludacris fought in both Crash and Hustle And Flow. It seems that any time Howard and Ludacris are on screen together, they’re destined to face off, so we’ll likely see some behind-bars conflict between the two. It’s been 10 years since Crash and Hustle And Flow came out, so what better way to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Howard and Ludacris than with a tribute on Empire? In addition to his various film roles—he recently reprised his role tech geek Tej in Furious 7—and memorable arc on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Ludacris is also known for showing up in music videos when he’s not really needed.
