Luke Wilson to Double Tap some zombies in the Zombieland sequel
Despite the sheer number of cold bodies on the screen, the original Zombieland operated with a pretty economical cast: Outside flashbacks, cutaways, and one absolutely exceptional celebrity cameo, the film relied almost entirely on stars Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, and Abigail Breslin to provide its human element. Sequels being what they are, though, it’s not entirely surprising to learn that the long-in-the-works Zombieland 2 is going to (tasty, tasty) flesh itself out a bit. Per Variety, Luke Wilson has now joined the film’s cast, fast as you can say “Woooow—no, wait, that’s his brother.”
Anyway, whatever Luke Wilson’s own catchphrase is—“Hi, I’m Luke Wilson,” possibly—we can’t wait to see him bust it out in Ruben Fleischer’s bloody follow-up to his 2009 undead hit. The basic plot of the film is being kept quiet, but it’ll supposedly see the four main cast members return, still adjusting to their newly forged nuclear family while also dealing with other people/Wilsons, as well as mutations and evolutions among the zombie horde. It’s scheduled to come out this October, just in time for the 10th anniversary of the original film.
