Lupe Fiasco escorted off stage after spending his entire Inauguration party set repeating anti-Obama lyrics

President Obama’s team has done everything it can to ensure My Super Sweet Second Inauguration keeps him from pitching a fit, so long as the lame-os like Boehner don't show up, but the organizers of a tangential inauguration bash thrown by StartUp RockOn apparently showed no such forethought by booking Lupe Fiasco. The rapper—who has been vocal about his distaste for Obama before, even calling him “the biggest terrorist… in the United States,” so LET’S GET HIM FOR OUR INAUGURATION PARTY, DUDES—found himself escorted off stage last night in D.C., after Fiasco spent most of his 30-minute set repeating a single, Obama-criticizing verse from the song “Words I Never Said.”

Specifically, Fiasco honed in on the lines “Limbaugh is a racist, Glenn Beck is a racist/ Gaza Strip was getting bombed, Obama didn't say shit/ That’s why I ain't vote for him, next one either”—lines which Fiasco repeated, over and over, for nearly half an hour, refusing to stop or move on to another song until his set was finally ended by organizers. Naturally, the incident has been characterized as an “anti-Obama rant,” which the event’s founders (a collaboration between HyperVocal, EventFarm, and Fighter Interactive) have today contested with a statement making clear they’re “staunch supporters of free speech and political speech.”

Despite an initial tweet from HyperVocal chastising Fiasco for using the event to "make a political statement," they now say Fiasco was not removed because of the Obama dictatorship that was newly installed this morning at Take Your Guns O'Clock, but rather because of his “bizarrely repetitive, jarring performance that left the crowd vocally dissatisfied.” And really, maybe Fiasco could have at least used his professional rapper skills to freestyle a different rhyme about how he doesn’t like Obama. After all, his name rhymes with “drama,” “mama,” and “trauma." There are several possibilities there. Maybe use this?
