M. Night Shyamalan wants to direct an episode of Stranger Things
Before they reignited America’s love affair with Spielberg and synths, Stranger Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer were writing mysterious sci-fi plots for M. Night Shyamalan’s Wayward Pines. Now it sounds like their old boss is looking for a little reciprocation. Shyamalan, who’s promoting his new film, Split, told Digital Spy that he’d like to direct a season two episode of Stranger Things.
“My boys who do Stranger Things, they did Wayward Pines for me. They were round my house and I was like, ‘Well, you can hire me back guys!’” Shyamalan said, without revealing what twists, if any, he pitched for his episode. The Duffer brothers haven’t accepted the offer yet, but Shyamalan will be able to keep busy while awaiting their response—he’s got that Tales From The Crypt reboot in the works at The CW, and he’s partnering with Family Guy’s Alex Carter on a new animated series at Fox.
