Mackenzie Davis might star opposite Kristen Stewart in a rom-com from Clea Duvall

Mackenzie Davis, the breakout star of AMC’s Halt And Catch Fire, is in talks to join Kristen Stewart in a lesbian romantic comedy for TriStar from actress-turned-director Clea Duvall, The Hollywood Reporter reports.

Happiest Season, which was written by Duvall and Mary Holland, will tell the story of a marriage proposal that falls apart once a young woman realizes her girlfriend has yet to come out to her conservative parents. It marks Duvall’s first directorial effort for a major studio, though she made her debut behind the camera with 2016's The Intervention.

Davis recently turned in a magnificent performance alongside Charlize Theron in Jason Reitman’s Tully, and her profile will rise that much more when she stars in Tim Miller’s upcoming Terminator reboot. Stewart, meanwhile, is gearing up for a high-profile reboot of her own with Charlie’s Angels.
