Mädchen Amick joins never-ending list of American Horror Story: Hotel guests
If you haven’t been cast in American Horror Story: Hotel, do you even exist? This existential crisis is brought to you by Ryan Murphy, who seems hell-bent on filling his hotel of horrors with every actor working in television, plus a pop star or two. The latest addition to the swelling cast is Mädchen Amick, who is no stranger to supernatural horrors thanks to her regular role in the canceled Lifetime drama Witches Of East End. Amick teased the news with a tweet on Thursday, showing her name written in the signature AHS font that haunts all of our dreams. Ryan Murphy then confirmed the news with TVLine.
According to Murphy, Amick will share scenes with Chloë Sevigny’s character. “She is playing the mother of a boy who becomes ill,” Murphy said. “And Chloë plays the doctor.” Through the years, Amick has appeared in an impressively long list of television shows, including Twin Peaks, Dawson’s Creek, ER, Gilmore Girls, Gossip Girl, Californication, Damages, Political Animals, and Mad Men. She is set to reprise the role of Shelly in Showtime’s (eventually) upcoming Twin Peaks revival. Amick is in everything, so it only makes sense that she’ll be in the show everyone is going to be in. In addition to Sevigny, she joins Naomi Campbell, Angela Bassett, Lily Rabe, Kathy Bates, Chloë Sevigny, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Wes Bentley, Matt Bomer, Cheyenne Jackson and Max Greenfield. And in the time it took you to read that list of names, Murphy has probably already tapped someone new to be added to it.
