Madonna signs to Interscope, will release new album in March
With the recent announcement that Madonna is teaming up with Cirque du Soleil for the most fabulous Super Bowl halftime show ever, it was speculated that the 53-year-old singer is using the high-profile appearance to kick off a PR-blitz for a new album. Now comes confirmation that Madonna has signed a new record deal with Interscope, and will release new music in March. The album (the title of which hasn't been announced yet, because Madonna is greedy for online news posts) is part of a three-record deal that's said to be worth $40 million, a princely sum for an artist who likely will be pushing 60 by the time the agreement is fulfilled. (Madonna's most recent album, Hard Candy, came out three years ago, and went gold.) The lead single "Gimme All Your Luvin" (which we're guessing isn't a ZZ Top cover) is due at the end of the January, but several clubby-sounding tracks have already surfaced online, including the sage-like "La Petite Jeune Fille," which you can hear below.
