Maggie Gyllenhaal dreams big in The Deuce season 2 trailer

The divide between the haves and the have nots remains ever present in this extended trailer for The Deuce season two. Although the time jump to 1978 finds people like Candy (Maggie Gyllenhaal) daring to dream big enough to be an auteur in the porn industry and not just a bit player, those bubbles are bound to be burst by a task force bent on destroying the (relative) safe haven of The Deuce for sex workers. David Simon and George Pelecanos’ thoughtful and riveting exploration of power dynamics is also back, as we see in the glimpses of Lori (Emily Meade) and Darlene (Dominique Fishback), whose gender and race continue to leave them vulnerable.
