Mahershala Ali is venturing to Triple Frontier with Channing Tatum and Tom Hardy

By the end of this month Mahershala Ali may very well have his first Oscar for Moonlight, and he’s already got a series of films in the pipeline. He appears in a biopic that premiered at Sundance, and has secured a bad guy part in Robert Rodriguez and James Camerson’s Alita: Battle Angel. But now reports indicate that he’ll be joining Channing Tatum and Tom Hardy in a long-awaited, high-profile prestige project: J.C. Chandor’s Triple Frontier, the drama that was once in the hands of Kathryn Bigelow. Ali is currently “in talks” for a role in the movie written by Mark Boal, that takes place in a South American region known for crime called “la triple frontera.” There is no word on who he or any of the other critically beloved men in this movie will play.
