These oddly boisterous quips are reminiscent of one of TV’s biggest blowhards, Futurama’s Zapp Brannigan. The riff on Captain Kirk with the spongy and bruised flesh is the perfect mouthpiece for some of Trump’s best words. Now, thanks to the actor who played Brannigan, the world gets to hear these best words in the voice of an intergalactic captain worthy of them.

This has given birth to the excellent hashtag #MakeAmericaBrannigan. The dulcet tones of the Diplomatic Order Of Planets general almost make it easy to stomach these quotes. Almost.
