As reported by Variety, Malcolm-Jamal Warner has signed on to FX’s American Crime Story. Like its sister show, American Horror Story, Crime Story will be an anthology series that focuses on a different true crime story every season. The first season, which will be covering America’s favorite true crime story, will be dubbed The People Vs. O.J. Simpson.
Cuba Gooding Jr. will be playing Simpson, with John Travolta as Robert Shapiro, David Schwimmer as Robert Kardashian, Selma Blair as future reality star Kris Kardashian, and Courtney Vance as Johnnie Cochran. Warner will be playing someone who is a little less famous than those people, but is role in the whole ordeal is just as iconic: Al “A.C.” Cowlings, the former football player and friend of O.J. who drove the white Ford Bronco during the famous low-speed car chase. No word yet on who will play the Bronco, though, since Ford discontinued that model.
