Mandy Moore is ready to settle down and star in a TV series

After years of flirting with series television via guest star turns on shows like Entourage, Scrubs, and How I Met Your Mother, Mandy Moore is at last ready to take a chance on a serious TV relationship with ABC—which, if A Walk To Remember taught us anything, means ABC has leukemia. But before ABC kicks off, it will develop a single-camera comedy starring Moore as one-half of a newlywed couple who are faced with “the inherent conflict between the families we grow up in and the families we make.” So basically, it’s every sitcom ever made about newlyweds dealing with their in-laws, but with Wedding Crashers co-writer Bob Fisher providing the gags, Real Steel director Shawn Levy providing more robotic motions, and Mandy Moore providing the built-in “movie and pop star” aura to compete with Zooey Deschanel. And once it’s finally on the air, ABC will say goodbye, and every time the wind blows, we’ll know that it produced a miracle after all. (Spoilers for those who haven’t seen A Walk To Remember, I guess, but you weren’t going to watch it anyway.)
