You Be My Heart, a sweet compilation that benefits 826 Valencia, features heartwarming tracks from Marissa Nadler, Fruit Bats, Mark Kozelek, The Bowerbirds, and more. The A.V. Club has the premiere of one of the album’s best tracks, Maps & Atlases’ take on “She’s Like A Hologram.” Written by songwriter Devon Reed, “She’s Like A Hologram” explores the tried and true metaphor that love is a battlefield. It’s full of silly rhymes, but the way Maps & Atlases arranged the track is anything but ridiculous.
You Be My Heart is available for purchase now via a number of retailers. A portion of all proceeds from sales will be donated to 826 Valencia, a non-profit dedicated to teaching kids creative writing.
