Marc Maron talks cats, anger, food, and sex in an exclusive look at his new stand-up special

On a recent episode of WTF With Marc Maron, Marc Maron observed that his fans might be upset that things are going unusually well for the comedian. He interviewed both Keith Richards and Lorne Michaels this year on his podcast, both of whom he had been working on getting on the show for some time. His IFC sitcom Maron got renewed for a fourth season, and he has a new stand-up (while sitting down) special premiering on EPIX this week. Oh yeah, and he interviewed the President of The United States in his fucking garage. However, fans needn’t worry that success has spoiled Marc Maron: The cynicism and self-loathing is still strong in his stand-up.

More Later was taped in the spring of 2015 at the Vic Theatre in Chicago, and according to the comedian, the set will consist of “anger, cats, women, food, sex, maybe religion, [and] getting old.” Maron feels that he’s being “diplomatic in setting people up to be offended” and thinks audiences should just “take it.” In other words, the former angry young man still has that venom that audiences dig, even if he thinks everyone hates him.

More Later premieres December 4 on EPIX.
