Margo Martindale to charm on The Good Wife

If Margo Martindale never appears on your television drama, did your show really exist? Martindale’s ever-growing list of TV credits includes Justified, The Americans, and Dexter. Now—in addition to her recent return to The Americans and the news that she’s set to star in a CBS pilot being written and produced by Bryan Cranston—she’s joining the cast of The Good Wife for a recurring role in season seven.

Martindale will play Willa Eastman, a top campaign operative who uses a fake, down-to-earth charm to obscure her sharp political intelligence, leading us to believe she once mentored a certain young Nancy Crozier in the art of deception.

This is the latest in a series of casting news for The Good Wife, as the show frantically tries to fill the holes left by Archie Panjabi and Matthew Goode’s departures. The seventh season of The Good Wife premieres on Sunday, October 4.
