Margot Robbie in talks to join Tina Fey in Taliban Shuffle
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Margot Robbie might be the next name to join Taliban Shuffle. Produced by and starring Tina Fey, Paramount’s adaptation of journalist Kim Baker’s wartime memoir will be directed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa (Crazy, Stupid, Love). Robbie recently worked with Ficarra and Requa on the upcoming thriller Focus.
The book centers on Baker’s time reporting from the Afghanistan/Pakistan border and is infused with dark comedic humor, commenting on the news as well as Baker’s personal relationships. Robbie is reported to be up for the part of “a blond, gorgeous, and hardcore on-air news anchor” who becomes friends with Fey’s character, even as she endangers her and everyone around them with her drive to land a story. Still, THR notes that she may have to choose between this and another movie about folks with a death wish: David Ayer’s comic-book adaptation, Suicide Squad.
