Margot Robbie to probably have ulterior motives in noir thriller Terminal
Margot Robbie has three movies of varying likely box-office impact on the horizon: First up is the ensemble comedy Whiskey Tango Foxtrot with Tina Fey, followed by a different kind of ensemble film, Suicide Squad, in July; finally, in August, Robbie will be seen opposite Alexander Skarsgård in The Legend Of Tarzan. Now the Focus actress has signed on to lead the noir thriller Terminal, which will be directed by Vaughn Stein in his full-length feature debut.
Terminal will follow two hitmen on a “borderline suicide mission for a mysterious employer and a high paycheck.” The “unlikely pair” meet Annie (Robbie), a “dynamic woman” whom they come to suspect “may be more involved than they had originally suspected.” We assume this means the hitmen will learn that Robbie is their mysterious employer, who turns out to be a micromanager who follows them on their impossible task to make sure they get it right.
Stein has multiple assistant/third assistant director credits to his name, including work on The Danish Girl, In The Heart Of The Sea, and The Fifth Estate, but the only picture he’s helmed so far was the 2015 short, Yussef Is Complicated. The new project will see him reunited with David Barron, who produced Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 2, on which Stein served as third assistant director. Barron also produced The Legend Of Tarzan, which stars Robbie as Jane Porter, so at least everyone’s probably already on a first-name basis.
