Mariah Carey just launched her own “melodic beverage”
Mariah Carey’s new record, Me. I Am Mariah. The Elusive Chanteuse, was released last week, meaning the pop-savvy public has been subjected to weeks and weeks of butterfly references and pictures of Carey doing ordinary person stuff in ball gowns. Now Carey has announced the launch of her first tie-in beverage, also called Butterfly.
The pink, non-alcoholic drink is described as “a melodic beverage inspired by the magic of Mariah Carey,” and it’s also billed as being “interactive,” since fans and drinkers can access Carey’s new social network simply by touching their app-enabled phones to the bottle. Butterfly will be available at Walgreens nationwide, as announced by Carey at a press conference where she sat directly in front of a lightly blowing fan. Press who have tasted Butterfly describe it as “Gatorade-like… with more sugar” and “literally like liquid sugar-free gummy bears.”
