Mario Lopez's H8R now actively encouraging celebrity abuse via something called Tout

Though some reviews have pointed out some flaws in its premise, one of the bravest programs of the new fall season, the Mario Lopez-produced H8R, tackles the widespread problem of people saying mean things about celebrities on the Internet. Or so it claims. The A.V. Club has just received a press release that links to a shocking clip of Lopez encouraging viewers to express their hate of celebrities. Could H8R be fanning the very flames it claims it wants to extinguish? The evidence is damning. Apparently Lopez and the show have hooked up with a service called Tout, a social networking site that allows users to send videos of 15 seconds or less. That sounds like a noble enterprise, but Lopez and H8R now seem determined to twist it to ignoble ends. Some disquieting 15-second bursts of H8 have already surfaced. Will this hypocrisy slow H8R's juggernaut-like ratings performance? Only time will tell.
