Mark Wahlberg to star in some sort of action-comedy or something
Although Mark Wahlberg’s most immediate plans involve playing with a talking teddy bear and prepping a sequel to The Fighter, he’s also now attached to the spec script Bait And Switch for Universal, a project that the studio just picked up from rookie screenwriter Matthew J. O’Neill as a starring vehicle for Wahlberg. Besides the fact that it is most likely not an adaptation of this 2010 short about the relative ease of pimpin’, there aren’t many more details to share—only that it’s an “action comedy,” and will likely involve Wahlberg growing exasperated with someone, because that’s sort of his thing. In the meantime, feel free to speculate as to its storyline: We’re going with Wahlberg playing a Boston-bred tough guy cop, who’s pushed to the breaking point by a hotel chain’s underhanded “resort fees.”
