Martin Scorsese is making a documentary about Bill Clinton
As part of an effort to just hand conservative pundits their talking points out of post-election pity, HBO has announced that it will air a new documentary about Bill Clinton to be produced and directed by Martin Scorsese, thus enabling easy, "oh, so it's another gangster movie" quips. The film will be made with the full cooperation of Clinton himself—not much of a risk, considering Scorsese has been a longtime supporter of both Clintons, and his HBO documentaries on Fran Lebowitz and George Harrison were pretty good. Clinton has said that he looks forward to "sharing my perspective on my years as President," where he will surely play up his accomplishments in economic expansion and ensuring healthcare for children, then shock everyone by spending the last hour playing saxophone while reminiscing wistfully about all the other interns he "bagged."
