Marvel’s Luke Cage series finds its showrunner
Greetings, true believers! In our last exciting issue, a thunderous team of histrionic heroes had assembled for bellicose binge-watching on the mysterious island of Netflix! Laudable light-sensitive litigator Daredevil launches April 10! Gamine gumshoe Jessica Jones has has been casting cohorts fast and furious! And now handsome, hotheaded hero for hire Luke Cage has both a star and show-runner!
Physically and emotionally scarred, we’re sure, by a science experiment gone wrong, Cheo Hodari Coker has spent years plotting his revenge while toiling away as a writer and producer on TV series like Southland, NCIS:LA, Almost Human, and Ray Donovan. But now Coker is ready to emerge from his island fortress, shed his iron mask, and pen the first two episodes of Marvel’s Luke Cage series, due to air in 2016. He’ll also serve as showrunner, mentoring a team of young mutants as they come to terms with their powers, assuming those powers involve producing 13 episodes of a television series for a popular streaming service. Excelsior!!!
