Marvin Gaye’s family continues its quest to destroy anyone involved with “Blurred Lines”

Just a week after a judge ordered that Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams have to pay $7.3 million to the family of Marvin Gaye due to the similarities between “Blurred Lines” and Gaye’s “Got To Give It Up,” Gaye’s family is going after even more of the people involved in “Blurred Lines.” It’s a little like choosing to bomb a country you’re at war with even after you’ve taken their capital and killed their president, or as children on a playground would say, “Y’know, there is a such thing as a sore winner.”

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gaye’s family wants the judge to “correct the jury’s verdict” by adding Universal Music, Interscope Records, Star Trak Entertainment, and T.I. (who was spared from the initial decision) to the list of those who infringed on “Got To Give It Up.” In other words, they don’t just want the people who wrote “Blurred Lines” to give them a ton of money, they want everyone involved in the production and release of “Blurred Lines” to give them a ton of money. On top of that, if the family manages to convince the judge to bring the record companies into this, they might have an easier time convincing him to halt all sales and distribution of “Blurred Lines.” The next step after that, obviously, would be to go after everyone who has ever heard the song, and then forcibly erase it from their memories. Most people will probably just volunteer for that anyway, though.
