Matt Bomer and Cheyenne Jackson to vainly attempt to replace Jessica Lange on American Horror Story
Following through on a threat she’s made several times before, Jessica Lange confirmed that she has finally succeeded in escaping the presumably terrifyingly overenthusiastic clutches of Ryan Murphy’s fandom at yesterday‘s PaleyFest panel on American Horror Story. The two-time Oscar winner said, “We’ve had a great run. I have absolutely loved doing these four characters…To cut to the chase, yes, I’m done,” in response to the moderator’s question on whether she would return to star in American Horror Story: Hotel.
But while an American Horror Story without Jessica Lange may seem pointless to the sensible person, being sensible has never been Ryan Murphy’s strong point, and thus the show will go on. American Horror Story: Freak Show guest star Matt Bomer will return as one of the series leads alongside previously announced star Lady Gaga, along with AHS newcomer Cheyenne Jackson. “I love collaborating with Ryan Murphy,” Bomer said. “It feels like this world where there are no bounds.” At which point Jessica Lange smiled a sardonic inward smile and said nothing, because she’s a class act.
