Damon showed up to rub Jimmy Kimmel Live!’s loss to Last Week Tonight in Kimmel’s face. The piece of fruit—which The New York Times’s Dave Itzkoff accurately referred to on Twitter as “Chekhov’s apple”—also ended up being a callback to an earlier joke about Kimmel’s mom packing bagged lunches for audience members.
