Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway may find Steven Knight’s Serenity
Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway were last seen together exploring space and learning about love in Interstellar. Soon, however, they may join forces again for what Deadline is calling a “sexy noir” from Steven Knight. The publication reports the two are in talks to star in Serenity. The film’s plot is described as a “mysterious tale of a fishing boat captain whose past is about to crash up against his life on a small island in the Caribbean, ensnaring him in a new reality that might not be all it seems.” Assuming that McConaughey is up for the role of the aforementioned captain, that sounds like just the kind of drifter we’re used to seeing him play. Knight—who will write and direct—is known for his work on Tom Hardy vehicles Locke and Taboo, which is currently airing on FX. Knight also wrote the screenplays for David Cronenberg’s Eastern Promises and Stephen Frears’ Dirty Pretty Things.
