Matthew Vaughn wants to reboot Kick-Ass and develop several Kingsman spin-offs

According to Empire, director Matthew Vaughn has some big plans for various comic books written by Mark Millar. He already made the first Kick-Ass and the two Kingsman movies, but he’s not stopping there, telling Empire that his production company is developing a reboot of the Kick-Ass movies and multiple spin-offs of the Kingsman series. Also, his production company is called Marv Studios, which just sounds like a great name for a group of people making comic book movies.

For Kick-Ass, it sounds like he’s planning for the next movie to take a page from the current run in the comics by replacing original white guy hero Dave Lizewski with Patience Lee, a black single mother who dons the Kick-Ass mask. Vaughn is also considering some kind of project based on Hit-Girl, the vigilante played by Chloë Grace Moretz in the original two movies, and it would either be a solo story about her as an adult or a prequel about her being trained by Batman lookalike Big Daddy.

As for Kingsman, Vaughn is working on a third entry in the series that will continue the story of Taron Egerton’s Eggsy, but he’s also planning Kingsman: The Great Game, a prequel about the founding of the eponymous spy organization in the 1900s. He also wants to make a Kingsman TV show and a Statesman spin-off based on the American super-spies played by Channing Tatum and Jeff Bridges in Kingsman: The Golden Circle.
