It was rumored then quickly denied back in April, but the New York Times now confirms that longtime bandleader Max Weinberg will not be a part of Conan O’Brien’s TBS show when it premieres on Nov. 8. Guitarist Jimmy Vivino recently gave an interview to St. Louis’ Riverfront Times in which he revealed that he will instead take over the position, with Weinberg choosing to focus on his Buddy Rich-style big band as well as backing Bruce Springsteen. (O’Brien’s team had no comment.) It’s an end of an era, folks. Wonder how Jimmy Vivino feels about hookers?
