You might have heard that distinguished literary journal Maxim applied its laissez-faire attitude about breast authenticity to its music reviews, giving the new Black Crowes album two and a half stars without actually hearing it. Well, the mag just did the same to Nas, giving his new record Nigger two and a half Maxies even though the record isn't even finished yet. Nas, of course, is way too cool to actually care about such shenanigans, though his non-response response comes off exactly like the perfect putdown for a soft-core spank rag: "I'd prefer [a review from] Playboy," the rapper said. "That kind of stuff doesn't reach my radar or effect anybody around me. I don't know what a music rating from Maxim is . . . I don't know what it even means really."
