MC Chris prepares for battle with Freddy Krueger on MC Chris Is Dreaming

Adult Swim’s favorite purveyor of geeky rap music, MC Chris, is releasing a new LP, his first since 2014’s MC Chris Foreverrr. No stranger to rapping about the nerdier side of life on songs about Star Wars and Harry Potter, MC Chris Is Dreaming features 15 pop-culture-heavy tracks, the most esoteric of which arguably being “Blister Packaging.”

Of note on the album are two tracks referring to the man of your dreams, Freddy Krueger. Both “Dream Warriors” and “Freddy Krueger” will feature MC Chris coming to grips with his nightmares by doing battle with the bastard son of a hundred maniacs, voiced on the album by John Gemberling. While interested parties can check out the track “Freddy’s Dead”— which is streaming below—fans will have to wait until the album’s release on September 30 to see if “Dream Warriors” samples a Dokken lick (as it should).

Elsewhere on the album, MC Chris appears to be rapping about Jim Henson’s lovable ’80s cartoon Muppet Babies. If this LP registers on your nostalgia meter, you were either too old to be watching Muppet Babies or too young to be watching A Nightmare On Elm Street.

MC Chris Is Dreaming drops September 30.
