McDreamy’s dead, so where should Grey’s Anatomy go next?

In what ABC is now touting as “one of the most shocking moments in television history,” Patrick Dempsey’s Derek Shepherd, a.k.a. “McDreamy,” was smashed by a truck on Grey’s Anatomy last week. Despite still being stunned with devastation, A.V. Club associate editor Marah Eakin and copy editor Gwen Ihnat staggered into this week’s two-hour Grey’s followup to see how everyone in Seattle was coping. There they found a year’s worth of holidays, a much-recycled song, and a hella lot of carousel metaphors. Come join DVR Club in possibly its only Grey’s Anatomy edition as we all process our grief.
