Last week, the world shed a collective tear over the demise of the 15-year-old Opportunity rover. Now, with Mars fever sweeping the web, there’s no better time to dive into CuriosityStream, a new streaming service jam-packed with scientific documentaries, many of which focus on our exploration of the Red Planet.
As Nerdist reports, the first episode of a series called Space Probes: Red Rovers is available for free on the CuriosityStream website. The 30-minute documentary tells the stories behind the various rovers that have been sent to Mars over the years and what contributions they’ve made to space exploration. If one episode isn’t enough, a subscription gets you access to a whole playlist of Mars-centric documentaries, as well as 2,000 other shows covering various realms of science and technology.
There’s a small price tag attached, of course, but, considering the breadth of the streamer’s content, it seems well worth the paltry $2.99 a month. One cannot survive on Friends reruns and Investigation Discovery series alone, after all.
