Meg Ryan to star in comedy series for Epix
After what was apparently a “very competitive situation” between three networks, Epix has managed to win a new half-hour comedy series starring Meg Ryan called Picture Paris. That’s according to Deadline, which says that the show comes from Brad Hall and is based on his 2011 short film of the same name. That short starred Julia Louis-Dreyfus—who is married to Hall—and it focused on a suburban mom who plans a trip to Paris with her husband after her children have moved out.
The series is in “fast-track development for a potential straight-to-series order,” and it’s expected to film in France with Hall writing and directing. If it does get picked up for a full series, Picture Paris will be Ryan’s first regular TV gig since Wildside in 1985. You can see a trailer for the 2011 short below.
