With the real Melania Trump finally moving into the White House, the fake “Melania Trump,” so wonderfully played by Laura Benanti, returned to The Late Show to promise Stephen Colbert she’s ever so happy in her new digs. Really, she’s over the moon to have left New York, which she called her “prison of freedom.”
“Melania” also provided an explanation for that now infamous incident in which she appeared to swat her husband’s hand away. ”Fake news, Stephen,” she said. “It wasn’t a slap. His hands are so small I thought it was mosquito.” Well, now that’s cleared up.
