2008's already proving to be an eventful year for John Mellencamp, what with all that John McCain shunning as well as his upcoming induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. He'll soon be busy, though, finishing an old project: Ghost Brothers Of Darkland County, a stage musical he's writing with Stephen King. First announced in 2000, the play will finally debut in April 2009 at Atlanta's Alliance Theatre, and will be directed by Hedwig And The Angry Inch's Peter Askin. Said Mellencamp back in '00, the play will be set in Mississippi in 1957 and will revolve around (you guessed it) brothers and ghosts. Mellencamp also had some glowing praise for King: "There's nothing weird about him or demonic or anything like that."
