Melvins frontman Buzz Osborne is releasing his first solo LP

Buzz Osborne is going solo—for one album, at least. The Melvins frontman will release his solo debut, This Machine Kills Artists, June 3 on Ipecac. The 17-song LP is absolutely not a singer-songwriter venture, with Osborne saying in a press release that he has “no interest in sounding like a crappy version of James Taylor or a half-assed version of Woody Guthrie.” Instead, the record is dark, doomy, and, as Rolling Stone says, has the “Beefheartian edge his band is renown for.” Click over to the music mag for a more in-depth look at the record, including a first listen to one of the tracks, “Dark Brown Teeth.”
