Members of Mastodon, Queens Of The Stone Age, At The Drive-In form supergroup

At The Drive-In reunited earlier this year, announcing a new tour and some possible new music, but drummer Tony Hajjar doesn’t just want to reconnect with old friends. He’s also interested in head-banging with some new folks who’d also like to rock the shit out of some super-heavy post-hardcore metal music. According to Rolling Stone, that’s exactly what Hajjar is going to do now.

With the help of Queens Of The Stone Age guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen, Mastodon bass player/singer Troy Sanders, and multi-instrumentalist/video game score composer Mike Zarin, Hajjar has formed a new supergroup called Gone Is Gone that will officially make its debut at a show in Los Angeles on April 27. Gone Is Gone will then release an EP this summer, and a full album will come out at some point after that, along with other songs recorded specifically for video game and movie soundtracks. (Hajjar and Zarin worked on some movie trailer scores together, and they wrote the music for Splinter Cell: Blacklist.)

You can hear a preview clip of Gone Is Gone’s first single below.
