Live track and field finals include the women’s 400m, with Allyson Felix going for a seventh Olympic medal; the men’s 800m, with Kenya’s David Rudisha eyeing a second straight gold; and the men’s pole vault. Also: apparatus finals continue in gymnastics; live men’s beach volleyball (quarterfinal); and men’s diving (springboard qualifying).

Rizzoli & Isles (TNT, 9 p.m.): We swear, this summer might really be the summer of Rizzoli & Isles. Or at least the summer of Isles. Sorry, Team Rizzoli—we had to pick a side, and it was not yours. It’s a good side to be on, too, seeing as Sasha Alexander directed tonight’s episode, “For Richer Or Poorer.” You know, like the Tim Allen/Kirstie Alley movie. You’re welcome for the reminder that film exists, by the way. Anyway: “A forensic accountant is shot, luring Jane and Maura into a byzantine Ponzi scheme. More complexities arise when it’s discovered the main suspect is someone from Maura’s past. Also: Jane makes a big career decision.” A “byzantine Ponzie scheme,” huh? Sounds so much better than whatever Tim Allen and Kirstie Alley were doing in 1997.
Odd Mom Out (Bravo, 10 p.m.): Supposedly, “40 Is The New 70” when it comes to the Upper East Side mom cult. “Jill, Andy, and Vanessa all individually struggle with getting older.” Obviously, that’s where the episode title comes in. “Lex and Brooke take Jill and Andy out for an enlightening ‘Dinner In The Dark.’” Well, hehe to the “enlightening ‘Dinner In The Dark’” part, but also boo to a “‘Dinner In The Dark’” situation. Keep the lights on for food!
Premieres and finales
Cupcake Wars: Celebrity (Food Network, 8 p.m.): “Drake Bell, Lori Greiner, Bob Harper, and Heather Morris create cupcakes for a party celebrating Roald Dahl’s classic story Matilda.” This is weird, right? Please, someone confirm how weird this is. Please.
Love & Hip Hop Hollywood (VH1, 8 p.m.): “In the third-season premiere, Ray J and Princess’ wedding plans are thrown off track. Later, Moniece and Brandi encounter each other; Nikki discovers Fizz has been hiding a secret; and someone from Willie’s past visits Shanda.” Why does this have to be a reality show? Seriously, we would watch this as a nighttime soap opera, à la Revenge. Wait, we’re sorry: REEEEVEEEENGEEE!
Are You The One? (MTV, 10 p.m.): A two-hour finale—for a reality show, mind you—that starts at 10 p.m. is definitely a good idea… Right? (Isn’t the reunion going to be online, too? Is this show doing well? Or is this just the way of the millennial future of television? Ignore that we said “millennial future,” please.) Look, the Teen Mom Season 6 Catch Up Special is on at 9 p.m.—their hands were obviously tied. “In the Season 4 finale, old conflicts erupt; and an epic fight ends with tears. Also: Asaf is torn between following his heart and being a team player.” Be a team player, Asaf. You can follow your heart after you win the money; it’s not as though you’re frozen in time once the game is over. Also, this episode is titled after an O-Town song. At least, that’s what we’re taking away from the episode being titled “All Or Nothing.” Hit it, O-Town!
My Secret Job (TLC, 10 p.m.): There’s not even a description for this: TV Guide just says My Secret Job is on at 10 p.m. Talk about a secret job.
