Merge Records is hosting its very own 25th anniversary festival this summer
Like Touch And Go and Sub Pop before it, Merge Records has announced plans to host its very own 25th anniversary celebration. The four-day music fest will take place in Carrboro, North Carolina from July 23 to 26, and while specific details—like what bands will play and what venues the thing will be in, and, more importantly, what kind of beer they’ll be serving—aren’t really available yet, label head and Superchunk frontman Mac McCaughan jokes that the whole shebang will boast not only a “Wye Oak Wet ‘N’ Wild Water Slide,” but also a “Lambchop Petting Zoo” and a “Mountain Goats/Mount Moriah Misty Mountain Magic Misting Tent,” none of which we’d be opposed to.
