Meryl Streep is here to shake some shit up in the teaser for season 2 of Big Little Lies

The crew behind HBO’s Big Little Lies already knows to stay out of Meryl Streep’s way, since she essentially just forced her way onto the show even after season one had adapted the entirety of Liane Moriarty’s original novel, but this new teaser makes it clear that the “Monterey Five” are going to learn a similar lesson on the show. Streep is playing Mary Louise Wright, the mother of Alexander Skarsgard’s character, and here she tearfully confronts Reese Witherspoon’s Madeline about what really happened to her son—though she gets the strangest feeling that Madeline won’t actually be giving her the truth. That, combined with all the shots of every single character screaming at something, suggest that Big Little Lies won’t be transforming into a chill hangout show for its mysterious second season.

Big Little Lies returns to HBO on June 9.
