Metal Machine Music... Live!!!
Don't ever say The A.V. Club Newswire doesn't give you enough opportunities to hate/fellate Lou Reed: According to punknews.org, today sees the release of a live version of Reed's aural-torture-porn epic Metal Machine Music. The infamous noise album was reinterpreted onstage by German group Zeitkratzer–with Reed featured as a soloist–in 2002. Much spite, praise, and puke have been spilled over the original since its 1975 release, but the (al)mighty Lester Bangs summed it up best when he onomatopoeically described Metal Machine Music as "ZZZZZZZRRRRRRRR- EEEEEEEEEGGGGGGGGGRRRRRAAAAARRRRRRRR- GGGGGGGGGHHHHHNNNNNNNNNNNIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEE- RRRRRRRRRRRRRR." The new version is said to be a bit more on the acoustic (?) side.
