Metallica, John Legend, and more will perform at this year’s Grammys
With James Corden taking over for LL Cool J as host (thereby bringing the era of “Big Ole Butt” jokes to a close), the Grammys have just announced which musical acts he’ll bring to the stage. The first round of performers have just been named via press release, and they include Metallica, John Legend, Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban. The Grammys organizers appear to have just pulled from the pool of nominees for the entertainment, which makes sense, we suppose: James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich of Metallica are nominated in the Best Rock Song category, while Underwood and Urban are up for Best Solo Country Performance and Best Country Album, respectively. (Legend isn’t nominated this year, but don’t feel too bad for the Oscar winner.)
More acts will be announced in the days ahead of the Grammys broadcast, which is set for Sunday, February 12 beginning at 8 p.m. ET.
