Metric announces new album Synthetica due in June

Since they’ve apparently found a little time between composing music for Grammy-nominated soundtracks and performing pop songs for the Queen of England (seriously), perennially busy Toronto quartet Metric has recorded a new studio LP, and the band announced today that Synthetica, the band's fifth full-length album, will be released June 12. Like 2009’s Fantasies, Synthetica will be released via the band’s own label, Metric Music International, and through a joint venture with Mom + Pop in the U.S.

Guitarist Jimmy Shaw says this album finds Metric at the height of its power. “We've always had a sound in our heads that we hoped to realize,” he says. “We finally heard it coming back out of the speakers this time.”
