Miami Hustle

Miami Hustle

In Miami Hustle, a young actor named Eduardo Vañez plays a handsome enforcer in the employ of a big-time con man. It's not a particularly interesting role, and Vañez doesn't make much of an impression, but he does get one of those "and introducing…" announcements in the opening credits, and that only happens once in an actor's life. Pity Vañez that the only chance he has to be introduced to the world is during the opening credits of this made-for-cable would-be suspense film starring swimsuit model/acting void Kathy Ireland. There is a sort of freak-show value to watching Ireland glam her way through her role as a master-of-deception/schemester: See Kathy talk to a bearskin rug! Watch as she tries to look down-to-earth by putting her hair in pigtails! Gawk in astonishment at any point in which the script requires her to look surprised, or grief-stricken, or anything other than faintly distracted! Stifle gasps when Kathy says, "I've got your dick in a mangle. Any shit from you and I'll turn the handle." Better yet, avoid Miami Hustle entirely and think for a moment about the better movies that might have been made with the money from this, but weren't, simply because the filmmakers couldn't put the face of a supermodel on the cover of their video box.
