Michael B. Jordan might play a vampire in comic-book movie Blood Brothers
Determined to keep on throwing charismatic smiles at this “comic book movie” thing until it finally just gives in and works, Fantastic Four survivor Michael B. Jordan is in talks to star in the movie version of Dark Horse’s undead buddy-comic Blood Brothers. Written by Mike Gagerman and Andrew Waller, and drawn by Evan Shaner, the book tells the story of two immortal vampires, Nick and Tree, who’ve “smoked opium with Genghis Khan, had orgies in Michelangelo’s studio, and even fronted a death metal band.” (There’s no word on whether they’ve also baked cakes with Napoleon, filed their taxes with Winston Churchill, or done a Milwaukee-based morning chat show, but one can only assume.)
Jordan is in talks to star as Tree, whose twilit bromance with Nick is threatened when the latter decides to try to become mortal again in the name of love—a classic “Ladies-before-Vladies” scenario, familiar to anyone who saw Jordan’s earlier film, That Awkward Moment (When I Burst Into Flames In The Sun, Because I Am Secretly A Vampire). The actor isn’t solely focused on the Sisyphean task of getting the comic book world to accept him, though; he’s also starring in the upcoming Rocky spinoff, Creed, and has signed on to play crusading attorney Bryan Stevenson in Destin Cretton’s Just Mercy.
