Michael B Jordan wouldn’t mind doing another Fantastic Four movie

Michael B. Jordan’s impressive turn last year as a plucky pugilist in the revived Rocky franchise—which we guess is now known as Creed—has probably afforded him a lot of interesting offers, including reprising the role of said pugilist. But in a new interview with IGN, Jordan said he’d be up for revisiting a slightly less successful film he starred in that was also released in 2015. Yes, we’re talking about Fantastic Four, the underwhelming reboot that saw Jordan play Johnny Storm a.k.a The Human Torch, and so was Jordan when he said he’d return to the superhero team if a sequel were to get made (and yes, that’s a big “if”).

Jordan spoke candidly with IGN about the film’s poor reception, showing the same grace and aplomb he did when encountering the bigoted backlash to his casting. He acknowledged that “Every film isn’t going to be a home run,” but also insisted that no one involved set out to make a bad movie.

“I think everybody wants to do the best job possible. I think it was a big education for me to realise that things aren’t in your control, and you can do everything you’re supposed to do. You can give 110% every day, and the movie still not work out. But that may or may not be on you and you’ve got to be OK with that. Moving onto the next thing. For me, first thing off I had this project [Creed] coming on right after so it makes it a little bit easier to swallow.”

And while the actor, who will reportedly play a different kind of hero in Just Mercy, didn’t sound optimistic about a Fantastic Four sequel, he did say that he didn’t see any reason why he wouldn’t return. “Johnny Storm is an incredible character. Why not?” Jordan mused, possibly because he has seen the “fantastic” version of the movie that director Josh Trank swears definitely got made.
