Michael Douglas may play Ronald Reagan
Ronald Reagan has recently been portrayed by Alan Rickman in Lee Daniels' upcoming The Butler and Mitt Romney in the collective willful delusion of the Republican National Convention, but soon enough it could be Michael Douglas' turn. The Hollywood Reporter says that Douglas may soon follow his flamboyant performance as Liberace with another real-life portrayal of the 40th president, who had similar hair but much shittier piano skills. The role would be in Mike Newell's Reykjavik, named for the Icelandic city where Reagan spent a few days in 1986 trying to hammer out nuclear abolition with Mikhail Gorbachev (a part that has not yet been cast, though no doubt Danny DeVito is already calling Douglas incessantly). "It works because both Michael Douglas and Ronald Reagan believed that 'greed is good,' maaaaan," said some pinko hippie liberal, before expelling a big cloud of reefer smoke and signing everyone up for abortions.
