Michael Emerson reveals Lost DVD set will explore the adventures of Hurley and Ben
[SPOILER ALERT, OBVIOUSLY] We’re nearing the end of stories about the end of Lost, so let’s savor this one: During a recent appearance on G4’s Attack Of The Show, Michael Emerson revealed that the upcoming Lost complete series DVD will contain “12 or 14 minutes” of bonus footage exploring the only hinted-at adventures of Hurley and Ben, after the former became the island’s protector and the latter served as his faithful but emotionally inscrutable No. 2. “You could call it an epilogue,” Emerson said, adding that it “opens a window on that gap of unknown time between Hurley becoming number one and the end of the series.”
As we've mentioned before, it’s just one of the DVD set’s many addendums to the finale, meant to satisfy any and all lingering curiosities about the show that were left dangling to make room for more hugging time. Asked whether Hurley ‘N Ben Rescue Rangers would ever be developed into its own spin-off—a prospect, for their part, Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof have openly balked at—Emerson only smiled cryptically and replied, “"It's self-contained. Although it's a rich period in the show's mythology that has never been explored. So who knows what will come of it?"
