Michael Peña and Uzo Aduba in talks for My Little Pony

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ant-Man’s Michael Peña and Orange Is The New Black’s Uzo Aduba are in talks to join the cast of the My Little Pony movie. If the deals work out, their voices will be heard alongside Emily Blunt, Kristin Chenoweth, and the main cast—or “mane cast” if you want to be cute about it—of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, the cartoon that is equally beloved by both children and totally normal internet people. There’s no word on who Peña and Aduba would be playing (probably horses), but THR says the movie will be about “an unforgettable journey” in which the ponies “use the magic of friendship to save their home.” (That should be an interesting diversion from the usual My Little Pony stories, which hardly ever involve the magic of friendship.)

In other My Little Pony news, Deadline says the movie’s release date has been moved up by a month. It was originally supposed to canter into theaters on November 3, 2017, but it will now gallop into theaters on October 6. That’ll put it up against “an untitled Warner Bros. event film” and “a Fox Marvel title,” because this is the world we live in now.
